Representing the African continent, Mabele was crowned overall winner of Ms United Nation Internalational 2018/19, at an event in Canada, Lebema Media said in a statement. The pageant is not linked to global intergovernmental organization the United Nations.

The competition drew participants from several countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas, including South Africa, India, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.

The pageant stipulates that contestants must have a background in doing volunteer work for their community.

Lebema Media said Mabele, an actress, MC and radio presenter, had done projects in her community of Sedibeng, south of Johannesburg.

She currently runs an organisation called Face of Mzansi which aims to empower girls and young women through education and entrepreneurship.

“Vinolia aims to use her reign to continue developing communities and touching lives, at an international level,” Lebema Media said. (ANA)
