Two Limpopo schools robbed

JOHANNESBURG, July 3 – Robbers ambushed security guards at two Limpopo schools, disarmed them and proceeded to steal cellphones and laptops found inside premises, police said on Tuesday.

Police spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said the two separate incidents happened on Monday at villages outside Polokwane.

”Four unknown suspects accosted security guards who were on duty guarding the premises of Ngwanamohube High School at Seleteng village at about 1.30am on Monday. The attackers ambushed the two guards and robbed them cash and a firearm. The attackers forced their victims inside the school premises and took 18 tablets, cellphones and blankets,” he said.

The second incident at Rapitsi High School in Ga-Phadi village, seven armed men attacked the security guards at around 1am at Rapitsi High School in Ga-Phaudi village and robbed one of them a firearm.

They then handcuffed the guards and forced them to the main building where they broke into one of the offices, ransacked it and fled the scene with the following items including cellphones, a pepper spray and keys to the premises.

Police urged communities to come forward with information that can lead to arrest of the robbers. (ANA)
