JOHANNESBURG, June 24 – The South African Football Association (SAFA) has not taken kindly to the growing rounds of speculation that Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter is going to join Kaizer Chiefs.
On Saturday evening, Safa issued a statement which read: ‘The South African Football Association (SAFA) would like to clarify the matter surrounding rumours doing rounds regarding the position of Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter.
‘The South African Senior Men’s National Team head coach is contracted to the Association and, as things stand, that contract is binding.
‘The Association will treat rumours doing rounds as such and that the coach is busy preparing for upcoming AFCON qualifiers, which will take place soon after the FIFA World Cup currently underway in Russia.’
Safa said it will not be issuing further statements regarding the matter.
