Johannesburg- Four people were killed and three others injured last night (Monday) following a collision between a truck and bakkie on the R36 Ofcolaco Sekororo Road in Ofcolaco, Limpopo.
“Upon arrival at 17h22, paramedics found other services already in attendance. A truck and a bakkie were found on the side of the road amongst some bushes”, said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.
Meiring said paramedics found the bodies of a man and a woman lying amongst the wreckage and both patients had already succumbed to their numerous injuries.
“Nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead on the scene” he said.
Five other patients were said to be found on the scene, including a young girl.
According to Meiring, assessment showed that a woman and young girl had sustained numerous injuries and were in a critical condition, while the three others had sustained moderate injuries.
“Paramedics treated the patients and provided the two critically injured with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment. Unfortunately, after some time in hospital, the critically injured woman and child succumbed to their multiple injuries”.
” The details surrounding the incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations”, said Meiring.
