Johannesburg minibus taxi crashes into lamp pole, four injured

JOHANNESBURG, April 11 – Four people were injured Wednesday morning, one of them critically, when a minibus taxi crashed into a lamp pole at the Republic and Main Road intersection in Randburg, Johannesburg.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said when paramedics and another services arrived they found the taxi on the side of the road against a lamp pole.

“A woman was found lying next to the taxi door that had been ripped off in the collision while three other patients were found walking around on the scene” said Meiring.

The woman was in a critical condition. Three other people sustained minor injuries. They were all treated on the scene and taken to hospital.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
