Three wounded in Johannesburg attempted cash-in-transit robbery

JOHANNESBURG, February 3  – Three people were wounded, one critically, in an attempted cash-in-transit robbery on the corner of Twist and De Villiers streets in Johannesburg on Friday afternoon, Gauteng paramedics said.

ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at about 1.30pm and found three security officers were wounded in the attempted robbery, ER24 spokeswoman Annine Siddall said.

“One man was in a critical condition and was transported to hospital by ER24 for further medical care. Two other men were treated and transported to hospital by other emergency services on [the] scene. The exact details surrounding the incident are not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene,” Siddall said.
