JOHANNESBURG, November 13 – A man believed to be in his 30s was killed in an apparent hit-and-run accident at the Kilburn and Paul Kruger roads intersection in Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg on Sunday night, paramedics said.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find the body of a man lying in the middle of the intersection, ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said.
“The man was assessed and found that he showed no signs of life. Paramedics immediately initiated CPR [cardiopulmonary resuscitation] and advanced life support interventions in an effort to revive the man.
Unfortunately, after some time no vital signs returned and the man was declared dead.”
The vehicle that had apparently hit the man was not found on the scene. Local authorities were on the scene to investigate, Meiring said.
