Two people killed in KwaZulu-Natal crash

JOHANNESBURG,  November 11 – Two men died when the driver of a taxi lost control of the vehicle on Friday night, and overturned on the M7 Durban Bound before Hans Detman in Pinetown, paramedics said.

Rescue Care Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said paramedics responded to the scene at around 7.30pm and found a badly damaged taxi off the road.

“One male was found next to the taxi having sustained major injuries and he was declared deceased on the scene.

Further up the M7 at the Hans Detman offramp a male was entrapped under a vehicle,” Jamieson said.

“It is believed whilst the taxi was rolling the patient was ejected from the wreckage and a vehicle hit into him leaving him entrapped under the vehicle, with the help of a breakdown the vehicle was lifted off the man. He was assessed by paramedics and also found to have sustained major injuries and was declared deceased on the scene.”

Jamieson said that the exact cause of the accident was unknown and would be investigated by the police who were on the scene.
