Eight people die in another Limpopo accident

JOHANNESBURG, November 4 – Eight people died in a car pile up along the N1 in Mookgopong on Friday, Limpopo police said.

“It is alleged that three cars and a truck collided. Four occupants of a double cab died instantly, three others who died were passengers in other two vehicles,” said spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.

The cause of the accident was not yet known.

Twelve people died, three of them burnt beyond recognition in another horror accident along the N1 freeway on Thursday night. Police said a minibus taxi hit a donkey and then collided with a truck. One of the three people admitted in hospital succumbed to injuries and died on Friday morning.

Police are investigating cases of culpable homicide. The N1 south remained closed as investigations got underway.
