Seven killed in Polokwane head-on collision

Johannesburg, October 13  – Seven people were killed when two cars collided head-on near Polokwane, paramedics said on Friday.

 
Netcare 911 spokesperson Nick Dollman said the accident on the N1, south direction about 10 km outside Polokwane on Thursday night.

 
“One person had been ejected out of a car, the rest were trapped in the cars. The victims included two adult females, four adult males and a male child believed to be approximately three years of age,” said Dollman.

 
“Tragically there were no survivors, all of the victims had sustained severe injuries and died prior to the arrival of the paramedics,” he said.

 
Dollman said fire fighters used jaws of life to free the victims from the crumpled vehicles.
