Family of five killed in Marianhill KZN

JOHANNESBURG, October 6 – Five members of a family were ambushed and killed in Marianhill, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Friday.
“On 5 October 2017 at 11pm, a family was accosted by unknown gunmen who fired multiple shots at the five members of the family aged between 19 and 34 in Nteke area, Mariannhill,” South African Police Services spokesperson Nqobile Gwala said in a statement.
This follows the murder of eight members of the Sibiya family on Wednesday in Ematimatolo.
“Four of the family members died at the scene and the other victim died in hospital on arrival.”
Gwala said a docket with five counts of murder had been opened and transferred to the Provincial Organised Crime Task Team for investigation, while the motive of the attack remained unknown.
