JOHANNESBURG, September 14 – A woman, believed to be 35 years old, was killed after her vehicle crashed into a tree and caught alight on the R554 just after the N3 bridge in Alberton.

ER24 Spokesperson Ineke van Huyssteen said when paramedics arrived on scene at 22H15 on Wednesday night, the vehicle was on fire.

“The fire brigade arrived shortly afterwards and extinguished the fire. It is believed that the woman was removed from the vehicle shortly after the crash by members of the public” said Van Huyssteen.
