Duduzane Zuma pledges 100% of proceeds from sale of media businesses to the South African Youth

Sello Theletsane
The son of President Jacob Zuma, Duduzane Zuma, confirmed that the sale of his shares in the media businesses (Oakbay Companies), is currently underway as he promised the previous year.
“Last year I committed to sell my shares in Oakbay companies and this process is currently underway”.
“I have decided that ALL (100%) of the money from the sale of the shares in the media businesses will go to a new Youth Development Programme specifically focused on creating real and sustainable jobs”.
“While this new programme has a specific interest in graduates, it will be for ALL young people, male and female, regardless of background”.
“The young are the future, but they must be given a chance to succeed. This will need sacrifices from everybody in authority or with privilege”.
Furthermore, Duduzane confirmed that he will give out more details of the project in the coming weeks.

  1. As long as there is complete transparency in the allocation of funds, this is a welcome move. There should be more such schemes directed towards the welfare of the youth

  2. An ambitious but well intended move by DZ. We should have more info on how the funds will be distributed.
