Johannesburg- The Johannesburg CBD has been out of power for about Six days as a result of alleged cable theft, as announced by City Power on Saturday.
About 20 streets of the DA led municipality have been out of power for almost a week, but the City Power Spokesperson Sol Masolo mentioned that they were starting to fully restore power supply in the city.
The people of Johannesburg are not too happy about the incident, and this is their reaction on Twitter:
#JhbCBDOutage White media’s ignorance/silence to report 6 days power outage in DA’s led municipality is so LOUD…

I’d like to know why one of the most important CBD’s is not fault-tolerant? So we run the ENTIRE power supply down 1 tunnel? #JhbCBDOutage

That is just a few of complaints and comments people have been making about the power outage in Joburg city.
The technical team has allegedly been working throughout the night in order to solve this problem and City Power apologizes to all those who are affected.
