Khune, Keet withdrawn from Bafana squad to take on Cape Verde in World Cup qualifiers

JOHANNESBURG, August 24 – Bafana Bafana goalkeepers Itumeleng Khune and Darren Keet have been withdrawn from the squad that will take on Cape Verde in back-to-back 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Khune is down with a chest infection while Keet is suffering from a knee injury.
Head coach Stuart Baxter has called up Reyaad Pieterse of Supersport United as well as Wayne Sandilands of Orlando Pirates as replacements.
South Africa faces Cape Verde on Friday, September 1 at the Estadio Nacional Stadium in Cape Verde (starting 8.30pm SA time).
The return leg will be played on Tuesday, September 5  at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban (starting 7pm).
Bafana Bafana assemble for camp on Sunday, August 27 in Johannesburg, and expected to travel to Cape Verde on Tuesday, August 29.
