Johannesburg, August 10 – Orlando Pirates have announced on their website,  the appointment of Rhulani Mokwena as assistant coach to Milutin Sredojevic.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Rhulani Mokwena as the Assistant Coach”.

This is after the Buccaneers unveiled ‘Micho’ as their head coach last week and the Serbian has now assembled his back-room staff, with former Mamelodi Sundowns assistant Mokwena coming on as Pirates’ number-two.

“I thank the Mamelodi Sundowns president Mr Patrice Motsepe and the coach Pitso Mosimane for not only providing me with an opportunity; I thank them for the grace with which they accepted and supported my acceptance of the Orlando Pirates challenge,” Mokwena said on Bucs’ official website.

“Rhulani Mokwena’s dedication to the game pays off with recognition by his appointment as a member of the Technical Team of the senior side”.

Pirates head coach Sredojevic added: “Rhulani’s approach to tasks is done in a commitment that is noteworthy. I am pleased that he accepted the challenge.”
