Kathrada memorial postponed until further notice

JOHANNESBURG, March 31 (ANA) – The Official Memorial Service of the Late struggle stalwart Ahmed Kathrada who was laid to rest on Wednesday has been postponed.

In a statement on Friday Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) said: “The official memorial service of the late Mr Ahmed “Kathy” Kathrada has been postponed until further notice”.

The memorial service was scheduled to take place on Saturday, 1 April 2017, at the University of Johannesburg, Soweto Campus.

No reasons were given for the postponement.

Kathrada died on Tuesday after a short illness following surgery to the brain. He was 87.
